Flexible Pouches: An Eco-Friendly Packaging Solution at Kinsbrae

Many companies are looking for innovative packaging solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and do their part to resolve the ongoing climate crisis. Kinsbrae Packaging is proud to offer the recyclable and compostable flexible pouch as a type of eco-friendly packaging option. There are many benefits to using this type of custom packaging, and flexible pouches can be completely customized to meet your needs. Here’s why you should consider using flexible pouches to package products from your company.

The Design

One of the biggest benefits of using compostable or recyclable pouches for packaging is the flexibility in design. Your approved label is printed directly onto the pouch, but you can choose as many designs as you need. It is ideal for similar products with several SKUs. Consider candy in multiple flavours; you can create a different label for each flavour without having to drastically alter your basic design. You choose the colours, logo, text and layout of the design to make your product look appealing. Other benefits include:

  • Durability

  • Customizability

  • Low minimum order qualities

  • Quick turnaround times

The Uses

Flexible pouches are great packaging options for a wide variety of products. They are ideal for any product that needs minor protection from moisture to stay fresh. Because the interior of the package is slightly insulated, it is ideal for products that will be consumed within six to twelve months of purchase, depending on the type of pouch. Consider packaging tea, spices, pet treats, candies or dried fruits in flexible pouches to keep them fresh while showcasing your company’s commitment to sustainability.

The Features

While many packaging options are labelled as recyclable, it’s important to know that there are various codes assigned to different recyclable items. Many pouches you may think are recyclable are labelled as code 7, which means they ultimately end up in a landfill. They may break down eventually, but they do little to reduce your carbon footprint.

The recyclable flexible packaging options from Kinsbrae Packaging are different. Our pouches are labelled as code 2 recyclable, which means that they are truly recyclable. This means that our flexible pouches are entirely recyclable and choosing to use them can contribute to the resolution of the climate crisis.

Our compostable flexible pouches do not contain any GMO materials and are completely made of plant-derivative materials. As well, they do not contain any traces of microplastics, like many other packaging options on the market. They are designed to decompose within 8 to 12 months of being placed in a landfill. Even the harder components, such as zippers, are created to decompose within six months of being disposed of properly. To keep your flexible pouches in good condition, it is recommended to store them at temperatures between 15.6 degrees Celsius and 23.9 degrees Celsius. You should also avoid direct sunlight or freezing temperatures to ensure the pouches retain their integrity.

Flexible pouches come in a wide variety of sizes, and we can create packages that fit your needs regardless of how big you need these pouches to be. However, ordering our premade sizes can reduce waste by as much as 75%, further solidifying your commitment to sustainability. We have low minimum order quantities, so you should speak with a sales representative about the size you want, to see if it fits into your budget. Our printing capabilities allow us to keep costs low. You can discuss your unique needs with a sales representative and get several options to see which one is the best choice for your company.
