Leading the pack as the first Craft Distillery in Canada to introduce
a Spirit in a paperboard bottle
Amherstburg, ON (March 15, 2023) – Wolfhead Distillery introduces its newest release, a
Vanilla Almond Biscotti Cream Liquor in the innovative paper packaging, making our craft
distillery the first in Canada to ditch the glass for a 100% recyclable solution.
Developed in partnership with Kinsbrae Packaging (Cambridge, ON) the paperboard bottle is
lightweight, carbon-friendly and 100% recyclable. This bottle uses 77% less plastic and has a
carbon footprint 84% lower than a glass bottle. Its shape is similar to a wine bottle but 5x
lighter than glass. This was the first bottle design concept to filling for Kinsbrae Sales Manager, Ryan Pembleton, who joined Wolfhead with his team to witness the manufacturing side of the bottling line when the bottles arrived.
Although the paper packaging exterior is eye-catching and a great step in eco-friendly diversity, what's on the inside is the true star of the show. The Cream Liquor is the first of its kind for Wolfhead Distillery, making this the 10 product they’ve launched since opening the doors in 2016. The cream is formulated with Wolfhead’s own Premium Whisky, natural flavours and dairy to create a smooth and distinguishable product worthy of an equally distinguishable bottle.
Owners Tom & Sue Manherz were not sure how a paper bottle would suit a Cream Liquor but
wanted to step up to the challenge set out by the LCBO to introduce eco-friendly packaging.
After almost 2 years of product development, planning, designing, and waiting, the paper
bottles arrived just in time for a St. Patrick’s Day release.
Wolfhead fans can enjoy the new Cream Liquor in St. Patrick’s Day inspired Irish Coffee & Irish Slammers on Friday, March 17th from 12pm-9pm in the restaurant and along with live music by brother duo Lost & Found. Alternatively, they can purchase the Cream Liquor at the
